Oh, Emma! You are such a ham. Everyday you are learning something new. Your life's mission is to do everything by yourself. It is so much fun to see the little person you are becoming. We just love you!

At 15 months, Emma:
  • weighs 21 lbs. 13oz. (35%) and is 31 1/4 inches tall (75%).
  • "speaks" sentences with such facial expressions and conviction in her voice that I am convinced she knows exactly what she is trying to say even though it sounds like Mandarin.
  • has not sprouted any new teeth. Is still rocking the 12 teeth smile :)
  • naps twice a day.
  • goes to bed at 6pm. it is still working with the earlier bedtime. although the past two weeks has been a little rough with the holidays. I am hoping she can go back to her regular schedule now that things have calmed down a bit.
  • has moved up to size 4 diapers.
  • will throw a fit if you try to take something away from her that she wants.
  • has finally mastered walking! She started really going around on her 15 month birthday exactly - 12/6/12 even though she has been taking steps since 14 months.
  • wears size 4 or 5 in shoes and most 18-24 months clothing.
  • has quite a vocabulary built up. some things she says...
    • mama
    • dada
    • brother
    • hi (clear as day and usually with a great big smile)
    • bye (clear as day and usually with a hand wave)
    • hello
    • nigh, nigh
    • uh-oh
    • no (her favorite word)
  • understands simple phrases like "lets take a bath", "night, night time", "time to eat", "lets go bye, bye" and understands by going or doing whatever the action is.
  • loves to go outside. she could play at the park for hours.
  • picks up my iphone and says, "hi" like she is talking to someone.
  • loves to look at pictures or videos of herself.
  • will sit at daddy's lap and watch YouTube music videos for a long period of time.
  • has a new favorite song - Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe"
  • plays really well independently with her toys. she loves her little people Disney Princess castle from Christmas and her drum set.
  • is obsessed with pushing things around. She loves to push her toy shopping cart, high chair and walker. She helps me push the shopping cart and stroller when we are out.
  • does not like to be in said shopping cart or stroller now that she has discovered walking.
  • has the biggest laugh when you say, "I'm gonna get you", by walking around the kitchen island and squealing as she looks over her shoulder.
  • will go in the opposite direction of where we want her to walk. She turns right back around if you redirect her.
  • makes the elephant sound every time she sees an elephant or if you say elephant.
  • constantly walks around the house. she never stops.
  • continues to go up and down the stairs. it makes it very hard to get anything done around the house.
  • has learned to turn on the music and slide show photos on my iphone and ipad.
  • got her ears pierced on 12/27/12 - she screamed for the first five minutes and has not been bothered since.
  • loves to go around the house shutting all the doors. even if it means closing herself in a room.
  • learned to open the trash can and will throw anything away that you give her.
  • eats just as much if not more than her older brother.
  • "reads" constantly at home, in the car, at the store or anywhere for that matter. we always have books on us.
  • has transitioned from the soft top sippy cups to the hard tops ones. this makes momma happy. no more leaking cups of milk all over the kitchen floor.
  • will grab or point to anything that has Disney Princesses on it. she loves them all!
  • constantly puts her arms up or squeezes her hands together when she wants you to give her something.
  • feeds herself with a spoon (although she misses her mouth 90% of the time).
  • gives you a devilish smile and says"hi" when she wants her way.
