At six months, Emma:
- weighs 15 lbs, 14 oz. (50%)
- is 26 1/2" tall. (75%)
- is wearing size 2 diapers, but is almost out grown them. She can still fit into some 3 month clothes, but also wears 6 and 9 month clothing as well.
- tried oatmeal cereal for the first time on March 1st and loved it so much that she whimpered in between bites.
- eats oatmeal and 5 ounces of formula for breakfast, a jar of baby food and 4 ounces of formula for two feedings and 8 ounces of formula for her last feeding of the day.
- is eating every 4 hours, four times a day. her feeding schedule is 7am, 11am, 3pm and 6:30pm.
- still sleeps 12 hours a night. Usually goes down around 7pm and wakes at 6:30am.
- sits up like a pro. she does not wobble or fall over like her brother did at this age. it always amazes me how different kids are.
- still only rolls over from tummy to back. although lately she has been working very hard to roll from back to tummy.
- has really started enjoying her toys lately. she sits on her play mat for hours playing with her stacking cups, little people school bus, teething rings and stuffed animals. she definitely still has a thing with putting everything in her mouth. the oral fixation period does not look like it is going to end anytime soon.
- likes to watch everybody and everything going on around her. she is such a nosey body.
- is a cat-napper on most days. she usually takes a good hour nap in the morning and less than a hour nap during the day. rested or not, she is still a super happy baby.
- sleeps on her back at night. mostly due to the fact that she has a band on her head and is most comfortable that way.
- she wakes up every morning with a smile on her face. She starts cooing and babbling. It's so fun to hear you "talk." You are the happiest baby girl in the morning.
- hates tummy time. We try everyday to put her on her tummy and she cries, screams after a couple of minutes. Then she starts to bury her face into the floor. I worry that she isn't spending enough time on her belly.
- still loves to be in her bouncer. Her feet actually touch the floor now and she can turn around in it to play with the toys.
- is trying to cut a tooth on the top left.
- finds Cayden more amusing and funny than ever before. She has always watched him before, but now joins in on the fun. they both laugh and play together so well. I love to watch them. it makes my day.
- pulls her bottom lip in and sort of suck/smacks on it as if tasting something yummy.
- talks to us in long, one-syllable words. Usually a long "aaaaaaaa" and is tries very hard to imitate us saying, "hi"
- has had her band on for two weeks now and has already grown 4 millimeters.
- still would rather be held then anything else.
- does not care to be held in the lying down position. she isn't the type of baby you can "rock to sleep" because she loves to be left alone in her crib, in a sleep sack, holding her lovey.
- still sucks on her thumb, but occasionally will take a paci.
- gets a big smile when she hears someone singing "Pat-a-cake" or pretty much any other song. she loves music.
- loves to give hugs to mommy, daddy, brother and most family members. she does the cutest thing. she puts her arms around you, holds on tight, and burrows her face into yours. it is too sweet.
- had her first trip to the park and went in the swing for the first time. she absolutely loved it!
- is infatuated with the television. she loves all the colors and sounds.
