Seven months

Friday, April 6, 2012

I have to admit, when I realized it I cried. Where has the time gone? We are so in love with this girl! Cayden is always saying she is so darn cute mommy, I could just eat her face. Gotta love kids! I do have to say that I am partly to blame for his over zealousness. I catch myself saying the exact same thing. How could you not? She is too darn cute!

At seven months, Emma:

  • wears size 3 diapers. still can fit into size 3-6 mos. clothes, but mostly wears size 6-12 mos.
  • rolls over from back to tummy! rolls to get places and toys and pivots on her tummy.
  • still sits perfectly. we haven't had an incident where she has fallen over.
  • has her bottom left tooth and working very hard to get her bottom right tooth. teething has been a bit miserable. runny nose, slight fever and gnawing on everything. she is still the happiest baby though!
  • goes to bed awake in her sleep sack with her lovey and paci. now she is all over the bed. sleeping on her side, tummy or completely at the other end of the bed.
  • loves baby food. she has had oatmeal cereal, carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, peas (does not like), green beans, apples, bananas, and pears. she had puffs for the first time on Easter and loved them.
  • drinks water from a sippy cup, well sort of anyway.
  • loves to bang on tables, toys or people to see what sounds they make.
  • tried the swing at the park for the first time and loved it.
  • imitates clapping someone or on cue if you sing a song.
  • really enjoys being outside playing on the blanket with toys. tried eating sand, but that problem was solved immediately.
  • wants EVERYTHING and reaches for anything in her view. she has longer arms then we realize...she has flipped a bowl of cereal off the table and showered herself with a bottle of water.
  • she loves bath time and anything that lights up.
  • babbles a lot! ba-ba-ba, da-da-da and wa-wa-wa are her favorites.
  • smiles all the time and laughs when something funny happens. she has the best little personality. Cayden can make her laugh like no one else can. She just cracks up at him.
  • in the evening can be a little fussy. also known as the witching hour. especially if she didn't have a good afternoon nap.
  • sits contently on the floor with her basket of toys for long periods of time. eventually will empty out the basket, one toy at a time.
  • is on week 5 of wearing the band. she is almost finished with her treatment!
  • and I started taking a mommy and me class at little gym. she loves exploring and playing with babies her age.
  • still sleeps 12 hours a night. although has been waking up at 6:30am instead of 7am. mommy is learning to adjust.
