Nine months

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

At nine months, Emma:
  • weighs 18lbs. 9oz.
  • is 28 1/2 inches tall
  • officially started to crawl on her 9 month birthday - 6/6/12
  • has 5 teeth - her upper left tooth came through
  • hates to stand on her legs
  • gets into everything - cabinets, trash cans, outlets, toys, books...the list goes on. We had to put in outlet coves, locks on the cabinets and edge protectors for the coffee table.
  • still eats food like she has been starving for months. Tried yogurt, tofu, brown rice and oatmeal for the first time. She loved everything!
  • is mama's shadow and prefers to be held by her than anyone else. She can be perfectly content being held by someone else, but if she so much hears her voice she starts to wiggle and grunt to get me.
  • loves to give hugs and snuggles her head into your shoulders.
  • still says, da, da, da and "hi"
  • loves to dance to music. She rocks back and forth on her bottom to the rhythm.
  • is still a short napper. her pediatrician said that is totally normal as long as she is not fussy or upset due to the lack of sleep. for the most part she is a happy baby.
  • still takes about about 26-28 ounces of formula a day.
  • went in the pool for the first time at grandma and grandpa's house - 6/20/12
  • absolutely hates to go in her pack 'n' play. she will scream until someone picks her up.
  • found the cat food, which found it's way into her mouth.
  • thinks the springy door stoppers are the best invention ever.
  • can entertain herself with toys for a good while.
  • likes to have her arms, back and head tickled by anyone.
  • is super curious, always crawling off somewhere to check things out.
  • seems to have a little temper (or she is just very opinionated). Take something aways from the girl and she screeches. Lay her down to change her, she screams bloody murder.
  • pivots 360 on her bottom. It's the cutest thing ever.
  • is still the happiest baby ever. she is always smiling, playing and having fun.
