Disneyland 2016

This past weekend we packed up the rental car (don't ask) and headed to San Diego to see my brother-in-law and his family. Friday night the kiddos jumped on the trampoline, made individual pizzas and played for hours. They had so much fun just being together. Saturday morning we woke up at 6am to leave for Disneyland! It was a quick two hour drive before we were pulling in to the most magical place. The entire day was spent in Disneyland riding the rides, eating junk food, waiting in long lines, laughing and having a good ole time. That is until the end of the night during the firework show when Cayden went missing. Let's just say I was one frantic/panicked mother looking for her son. Thankfully he knew to find a crew member who sent him directly to child services. So, when I notified the park police they matched my description and less than five minutes we were re-united. I will say that those five minutes were the longest of my life! Right after we headed back to the hotel for the night. At that point our emotions were high and we were exhausted.
The next day was another early morning in California Adventure. My brother-in-law was able to get us into the park for a two hour magic morning (military perks) and the kiddos were ecstatic. There was hardly anyone there. It felt like we had the park to ourselves. Sunday was the hottest day in California, but it was much less crowded and the lines were shorter. That night ended with my niece getting sick and needing to go home early. So, Paul, myself and the remaining kiddos stayed until the park closed. All of us watched the Color of Wonder show for the first time ever and it did not disappoint! Probably the highlight of the trip. Afterwards we made the two hour drive back to San Diego. Monday morning the rental car was packed back up and teary eyed good-byes were exchanged. It was a whirlwind weekend filled with tons of fun, laughter, tears and being a kid again. Everyone had such a wonderful time together in the happiest place on earth!
